A schoolboy from St. Petersburg mistakenly played the role of the Biblical character Joseph dressed as quite another character, Joseph Stalin, the boy’s father, Fedor Gavrichenko wrote on his Facebook account.

“Yesterday, my 12-year old son participated in a school play. Earlier, he said he had a role of Joseph Stalin, who had to say something to some woman. We were not surprised too much, as over the years he played a variety of roles at school plays, including an epic role of a watermelon,” Gavrichenko wrote.

Tenth Russian Humanitarian Convoy leaves for Donbass

The tenth humanitarian convoy of the Russian ministry of emergency situations will leave for Donbass on December 21 from the bordering Rostov region, Minister Vladimir Puchkov said on Saturday.

“Today we are finalising the preparations, and tomorrow morning it (the convoy) will leave (for Donbass),” he said. The trucks will be delivering food products, construction materials, medicines, spare parts for the energy sector.

The minister said as of Saturday, at 1,000 temporary accommodation facilities in Russia’s 76 regions are staying refugees from Ukraine, including 12,000 children.

Any talk about weapons supplies to Ukraine or plans for such supplies run counter to the goal of achieving a peace settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksey Meshkov told the media.

“Russia’s fundamental position is this: irrespective of whatever statements may be made and whoever may be making them, the international community should not shake loose the situation in Ukraine, but work for a peace settlement, a constitutional reform in Ukraine and a dialogue between Kiev and the south-east,” Meshkov said.
